Rosa Bloch was born in Kaunas on the 03.06.1930. The family lived in Aušros gatve 13. She went to the Shwabes kindergarten and elementry school until the Soviet occupation. After the Soviet occupation,she moved to a school in Russian. As the pogroms of june 1941 started Rosa was sent out to the streets to bring food. On June 27th 1941 as she was bringing food to her grandparents- Rosa went through the Lietukis garage and was present at the brutal massacre there. After being deported to the ghetto'her father collapsed mentally and Rosa went to work instead of him in the aerodrom working brigade. Back from work late at night Rosa used to crawl through the barbed wire and the guards, to steal beet from vegtable gardens.The whole family was deported again to Panemuné where Rosa was carried bricks to by transported in a brick factory.with the lquidation of the ghetto - Rosa was deported to Stutthoff with her mother. Both stayed together,survived the attrocities the hard labour the hunger and the death march. Rosa lived in Kaunas until 1972 when she immgrated to Israel.
